Roger-Anderson.co.uk
Hello, welcome to the temporary, but oh so standards compliant, holding page for Roger-Anderson.co.uk - personal site of Roger Anderson, web designer, webmaster and web developer (amongst other things).
I have been working in New Media/IT since early 2000, being full-time since late 2001, and have a range of experience in the industry. This includes work on high profile websites, such as BBC.co.uk, as well as on smaller sites (see below).
My knowledge and skills include:
- Broad skill set including HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, PageMaker and PDF software for documentation/publishing and detailed knowledge of W3C standards and Web accessibility. Knowledge of ASP, VB and SQL.
- High level of computer literacy with extensive knowledge of packages, platforms and front end web coding and design.
- Software packages used include:
Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and Freehand. Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Acrobat (PDF) and PageMaker, Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Microsoft Front Page, Real Producer and various FTP programs.
Also: MS Visual Basic 6.0, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, SQL Query Analyzer, Office suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and MS Publisher. - Experience of photographic layout and the design of logos, book covers, business cards and promotional material for print
- Knowledge of image formats and experience of scanning for both print and the web.
- Extensive use of PCs since 1990 and Macs since 1999.
All websites I now develop are coded wherever possible to current W3C coding and accessibility standards and guidelines although many of the earlier ones are (sadly) not.
Websites
Please feel free to have a look at just some of the sites and places I've worked on over the last few years (please note though that not all of these sites were designed by me so any dodgy designs are entirely outwith my control.... honest!):

If you enjoy Cult TV, and in particular Doctor Who you might like my rather voluminous hobby site: The Doctor Who Cuttings Archive, one of the top ranked Doctor Who sites in the world and voted one of the top three fan TV sites (Best Fan TV Site category) in the prestigious Wooden Rocket Awards (2005).
(Note: the Cuttings Archive has not been updated since early 2006 due to my spare time being taken up with a number of family bereavements, including both of my parents)
If you'd like more information on my work etc please contact me (Borat don't bother! :-D )
